Coach Gary Cohn
Gary graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1985 where he played basketball for one year with the Tarheels.
A career entrepreneur, Gary built the leading market research firm in the financial services industry, developed an award winning internet job board, established a well-respected consulting practice, and continues to maintain an active presence in youth and collegiate sports.
Through Play to Win, Gary combines his passion for sports, attention to detail and client services, and his unyielding desire to help the next generation obtain a great college experience and education through sport. Over the past decade, Gary has established himself as the go to guy in dealing with the top academic schools in America.
Gary Cohn is the co-author of one of the most informative books to hit the market in this arena: Getting Recruited to Play College Baseball – A Practical Guide.
A New Jersey native, Gary has lived in Florida since 1988. Through his own three children, Gary has experienced the college admissions process firsthand. His Daughter Rose graduated from Emory University in Atlanta. His son Aaron was a 2014 All-ACC and All-ACC Academic baseball player at Duke and received his Masters from the Fuqua Business School. And his youngest daughter Hannah is graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and is studying for her Masters at Tel Aviv University.
Coach Andy Kiriakedes
Originally from Massachusetts, Coach Kiriakedes was an assistant coach at The College of William and Mary (for the past 3 seasons). He worked with the hitters and the infielders and in 2016 helped mentor the Tribe to 31 wins, a conference tournament championship, and an appearance in the Charlottesville, VA Regional Final. Under his tutelage, the Tribe batted .310, while it led the country with a 149 doubles and was ranked in the top in the country in runs (452), homers (55) and RBIs (33).
Prior to joining the W&M staff, Coach K also was on the coaching staff at Vassar and before that with his alma mater, The Marist Red Foxes. As a player, he was named a captain his senior season at Marist and was named MAAC Tournament MVP (2005).
Coach Kiriakedes brings an incredible background both as a player and coach to PTW.
Coach Doug Jennings
With 21 years of Professional Experience Doug Jennings offers private semi-private, and group lessons. Having achieved the ultimate in Baseball, playing for the Oakland A’s in the Big Leagues, Coach Jennings understands the important role academics plays in the future of our student-athletes.
Doug Jenning’s DJ’s Major League Instruction and American Dream Baseball not only teach the fundamentals of baseball but also the key character traits of discipline, character, respect, perseverance, work ethic and sacrifice. To go far in baseball and certainly life, a student-athlete must embrace all these traits.
Doug has built is post-playing days on those fundamental principles and they are perfetly aligned with PTW.
Coach Roger LaChapelle
Coach LaChapelle started the baseball program at Palm Beach Atlantic College (1985) in West Palm Beach, Florida and remained head coach for nine years. He is the owner/operator of Linedrive Indoor Baseball – the first indoor training facility in the USA to use HomePlate pitching machines.
Additionally, Roger was recently selected as one of three sites in Florida for installation and use of Smart Kage Technology. Coach LaChapelle has been a personal hitting instructor since 1995. His “students” have garnered over 50 baseball scholarships and have been selected as top round draft picks in MLB’s Amateur Draft (as high as the 10th overall pick). Coach LaChapelle’s unique hitting drills and approach have earned him a tremendous reputation among youth, college, and professional baseball players.
A native of North Dakota, Dan has been associated with the Athletic Republic Sports Training ® Network since 1994. Dan received his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from North Dakota State and his Masters in exercise physiology from the University of KY. While at Kentucky, Dan worked as a strength and conditioning coach with the baseball and tennis teams and assisted the football and swimming teams. Dan holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), and is a Level 1 certified coach through USA Track and Field.
In addition, Dan works as an adjunct professor for Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL, and Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC, in exercise physiology and biomechanics respectively. Dan’s vision of the high school athlete and his approach to helping them reach their potential is a perfect match for Play To Win.
